Alex is a former Navy SEAL, Firefighter and Paramedic with a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from John Hopkin's University. "My journey into hormone health is deeply personal. Nearing my 40s, while raising three children under the age of three and working alongside my wife as first responders, the demands of life caught up with me. Stress was overwhelming, my energy disappeared, and despite my disciplined Navy SEAL background, I found myself exhausted, moody, and struggling to maintain my health. Like many, I had tried everything — supplements, diets, even prescription medications — without real answers. Years later, testing revealed abnormally low testosterone levels. Beginning testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has been life-changing: my energy, clarity, and drive returned. This transformation became my “why.” Today, as co-founding partner of Nu Hormone, I am committed to helping others discover the same path back to health and vitality. Robyn Lopez, DNP, FNP-BC, Co-Founder, CEO
Robyn earned her BSN at Indiana University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of California, Irvine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. "Before founding this practice, I built my career in trauma and emergency nursing, drawn to the challenges and fast pace of the field. My health journey, however, is what truly shaped my purpose. While raising three children and working full-time as an ER nurse, my body began to break down. I became exhausted, gained weight and battled gut issues and chronic rashes. After years of conflicting diagnoses and ineffective, dangerous and expensive medications, I felt hopeless. I finally discovered that restoring my hormones and utilizing science backed weight loss meds could bring balance back into my life.
That transformation changed everything and today, I focus on helping others experience the same. My goal is to give patients the tools and support they need to feel healthy, happy, and in control again."
How it Started
Nu Hormone was founded by husband-and-wife team Alex and Robyn Lopez. The dream began in 2023 in Sisters, Oregon, where they had opened a small integrative health clinic called Whychus Health. It was there that Robyn, a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner, began to notice a powerful connection: many of her patients’ struggles—whether rooted in infections, environmental factors, or even genetics—ultimately tied back to hormonal imbalances.These imbalances often led to unexplained weight gain, heart disease, diabetes, depression, and other chronic conditions. When Robyn began restoring hormones and supporting patients with effective weight loss therapies, the results were life-changing. Not only did patients regain energy and balance, but their cholesterol, blood pressure, and other health markers also improved dramatically. From this discovery, Nu Hormone was born.
